Delhi LG VK Saxena asks CS to probe why power subsidy not given through DBT
NEW DELHI: The LG secretariat on Tuesday asked chief secretary Naresh Kumar to probe why the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (DERC) order of February 2018 directing the Delhi government to pay electricity subsidy to consumers through direct benefit transfer (DBT) had not been implemented till date.
He has asked for the report to be submitted within seven days
In its February 19, 2018 order, the DERC had said that the Delhi government may consider transferring power subsidy to beneficiaries the same way as the Centre was distributing LPG subsidy.
