Craters dot Santacruz-Chembur Link Road extension 2 months after opening
MUMBAI: The Santacruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR) extension, inaugurated by PM Modi in summer, has developed potholes in its maiden monsoon.
Images and videos of the potholes on the 3. 8km extension from Kurla to Vakola, which was opened for traffic in April, have gone viral on social media, where users have demanded action against the contractor. The elevated east-west corridor was constructed by J Kumar Infra, which has now been asked to fill up the potholes by the MMRDA.
“The responsibility for the repair lies with J Kumar,” metropolitan commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee said, adding, “It has been notified and instructed to complete the repair work at no cost. ”
