Country’s 1st coal gasification project

The Talcher Fertiliser Limited (TFL) plant in Odisha, when functional, would become the country’s first coal gasification-based fertiliser plant, said Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gases Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday while reviewing the project at a meeting in New Delhi.He said the plant, after completion, would ensure efficient supply of urea and other fertilisers in eastern India. The challenges faced by the project and how to ensure its early completion were also discussed.

The country and Odisha would become self-sufficient in urea when the plant starts production, said the Minister.The plant would generate employment opportunities and become helpful in the State’s development, he added.
