Coal Washeries

Four non-coking washeries with the total capacity of 16.22 MTY in Coal India Ltd and 18 non-coking washeries with the total capacity of 100.47 MTY in private sector were functioning during FY 2018-19. In the case of CIL, the tables show that only 7 per cent of the coal / ash is lost during washing, while in the private sector, the figure is as high as 21 per cent.

Non coking coal washeries in the private sector are mainly utilized by the consumers having linkage with CIL.
