Coal shortage: Worried industry urges govt to buy power from other states

Ludhiana: Already going through a crisis situation due to unscheduled power cuts, Ludhiana industrialists have been more worried ever since the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has claimed that the independent power producer (IPP) plants within the state are left with very limited supplies of coal.

Businessmen said in case any of the IPP plants in the state shuts down and stops producing power, it will cause huge losses to the factories. Businessmen wanted the Punjab government and PSPCL to take immediate measures to ensure that no such situation arises in the state.
