Kolkata: Days before Vikas Mishra was asked to appear before the special CBI court in connection with allegations against him in the illegal coal mining case, the central investigating agency sought his health details from hospitals. Mishra, one of the accused who was arrested by the CBI, has to appear in court on December 22.
Mishra was released from a private hospital on EM Bypass on Saturday and was supposed to be produced in the court in Asansol the same day. But he was taken to the correctional home, where he was admitted to its hospital.
After the court rejected his bail plea, CBI went to the hospital where he was admitted a day back. Sources said Mishra was feeling suffocated and his oxygen level had dropped. He also had lower respiratory tract infection. Mishra may need a liver transplant, his lawyers indicated.
