Coal India Ltd plans to supply a projected 610 million tonnes coal to meet the demand of power plants in the current financial year, 4% higher from FY23. The company’s production for FY24 is projected at 780 million tonnes.
The company’s supply accounts for a little over 74% of the estimated requirement of domestic coal-based plants during the year, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
