CIL’s production

Coal India’s production continues to rise on the back of better co-operation with coal-bearing states in acquiring land and faster forest and environment clearances obtained by the company in last the 12 months.

The PSU’s coal production recorded a 12 per cent jump in the Apr-Jun quarter over the same period last fiscal, even though the production misses the target marginally by 1 per cent. In the four month period (Apr-July 2015), the growth in production is 10.5 per cent. July is considered to be leaner month being rainy season. But, even in this season, the production in July has increased by 4 million tonnes sequentially, though it misses the target by 2 per cent.
