Centre sets up panel to unclog port bottlenecks
NEW DELHI: Govt has stepped in to unclog piling up of containers at India’s busiest container port, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) (Mumbai), and has set up a panel of top officials to remove bottlenecks at all the 12 major ports.
It will meet every week or fortnight to address concerns faced by businesses.The issue of around 35,000-40,000 inbound containers piled up at the JNPA was taken up at a review meeting chaired by commerce minister Piyush Goyal and shipping minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
