BP Review of World Energy

British oil & gas giant BP Plc in its yearly report titled as “BP Statistical Review of World Energy” released in June 2015 states that India’s energy consumption increased by 7.1 pc in 2014, the fastest growth in the last five years, reaching an all-time high, and accounting for 34.7 pc of the global consumption increment in 2014.

This 7.1 pc rise in energy consumption is the fastest among major economies and second only to Algeria’s 8.4 pc expansion. India consumed 637.8 million tons of oil and oil equivalent natural gas, coal, nuclear energy, hydro electricity and renewable energy.
