Battered roads plague residents of KK Nagar
CHENNAI: The three-kilometer road that connects Ashok Pillar, KK Nagar, MGR Nagar and Nesapakkam, a 100 feet road, has been reduced to around 40 feet. The road is dotted with pending stormwater drain work, sewer pipelines on the side, illegally parked vehicles and other encroachments.
Around 10,000 vehicles cross this road, which connects the ESIC Hospital, KK Nagar MTC bus depot and Ashok Nagar Metro. This has caused traffic snarls along the road. “It used to take five minutes to drive from Ashok Pillar to Nesapakkam along the Anna Main Road. Now, it takes thirty minutes,” said NB Babu, a resident of MGR Nagar.
