Bandipora grid station misses another deadline, 4 in 11 years
Even after passing of almost 11 years, grid station at Putushai village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district is yet to be commissioned, even as the project has missed four deadlines.
Locals said that the foundation of the project was laid in the year 2009 with the promise that it would be completed in two years’ time to mitigate the power woes being faced by the district.
“Almost 11 years have passed but the project is yet to be commissioned. This is pace of development with which successive regimes have been working on to construct a grid station here. This is very unfortunate that two governments have been in place in last 11 years but none has been able to complete and commission this grid station,” said Ali Mohammad Mir, a local resident.
