Airlines revoke ban on Telgu Desam Party MP Diwakar Reddy

Airlines today revoked ban on JC Diwakar Reddy, Telgu Desam Party (TDP) MP from Andhra Pradesh.

Former minister and MP JC Diwakar Reddy was banned by airlines for his unruly behaviour when he reportedly broke office equipment on June 15 and abused IndiGo staff at Visakhapatnam airport when they refused to let him board the flight to Hyderabad as he turned up late.

Seven domestic airlines, including IndiGo, had barred the TDP legislator on all flights.

Reddy had said the incident was “blown out of proportion”.

To stop such incidents at the airports, the government is preparing a national ‘no-fly’ list by the end of this month as incidents of unruly passengers, particularly politicians, have continued unabated despite heavy criticism in media.
