Ahmednagar to soon have its first solar agri-feeder

NASHIK: The problem of irregular agriculture power supply to farmers in Ahmednagar district may be solved soon. The government has acquired 5.45 hectares to set up the district’s first solar agriculture-feeder plant.

The five MW feeder is being set up as a part of the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture project and will be come up in two villages of Rahata taluk — Kelwad Budruk and Kelward Khurd. The solar feeder will generate power, which would be linked to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) grid, thus enabling day time supply of electricity for agricultural purposes.
