After 15 years, flying institute to return 17L
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has ordered a training institute to return the Rs 17 lakh in fees it had charged a resident of the Jivraj Park area, Anant Makwana, 15 years ago, for training and a commercial pilot’s licence.
The All India Institute of Aeronautics and four persons associated with it could secure a commercial pilot’s licence for Makwana even after he went to the Philippines twice for training.
The commission ordered the institute and the four persons to pay Rs 25,000 extra to Makwana for mental harassment and towards litigation costs. Makwana’s father took a loan to have him enrol for the training which was to take place in the Philippines.
