9 women among 12 held in Delhi for duping people by promising airline jobs

NEW DELHI: The northwest Delhi police have arrested 12 people, including nine women, who allegedly duped people on the pretext of providing jobs in different airlines. The accused posed as human resource department officials of the airlines and conducted fake job interviews over the phone. The victims were then made to shell out money on different pretexts after which the accused switched off their phones and went underground.

According to DCP Usha Rangnani, the accused have cheated more than 200 people in past few months.

The police had received a complaint from a person alleging that a call center had cheated him of Rs 12,250 on the pretext of providing a job in an airline.
