40,000 connections snapped in Pune to recover Rs 100 crore power dues
PUNE: The MSEDCL has cut around 40,000 connections in the Pune zone in a bid to recover pending dues of over Rs100 crore.
A press release by the power utility company stated that action has been taken against household, commercial and industrial defaulters. There are 6 lakh domestic, commercial and industrial consumers in Pune circle, having outstanding dues of Rs132 crore.
“In the past 40 days, the electricity supply of around 40,000 defaulters was snapped. This includes 27,000 in Pune city, 7,044 in Pimpri Chinchwad civic limits and 6,787 in rural areas of Ambegaon, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Mulshi, Velhe and Haveli talukas,” the statement said.
