24×7 power supply

During 2014 Election campaign, the Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate had made the development as the only issue facing country for which providing 24×7 reliable power supply was the key. Up until that time, nobody was thinking in terms of providing 24×7 power supply. During his election speech, Mr Modi used to explain that he had achieved this in Gujarat. As few believed him then, he said, “if someone presses a switch, one has electricity”, and therefore, there was no reason to disbelieve him that he did it in Gujarat.
