21 major road projects prioritised

The State Government has prioritised 21 road projects in mining areas as per the feedback received from the people and users. The list of the projects was reviewed in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy recently, in which Steel and Mines Principal Secretary Surendra Kumar outlined the issues for discussion. Tripathy set timelines against each project and directed the Departments of Works, National Highway and Rural Development to monitor progress of each work closely and ensure their timely completion. He directed the Collectors of Sundargarh and Keonjhar to “streamline the traffic movement for unhindered progress of road construction”. A target was set to complete the roads by March, 2022 in different phases. The review showed that the road projects were under progress.
