New Delhi: At least 300 flights were cancelled and hundreds more delayed across north India after dense winter fog engulfed the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) on Monday, said aviation industry executives.
At the Delhi airport alone, at least 228 flights – 131 departures and 97 arrivals – were cancelled due to low visibility, the executives added. The airport handles around 1,360 flights a day.
At least five flights were diverted from Delhi to other airports in the region, said people in the know.
