Will we see a fuel price cut ahead of Himachal, Gujarat polls?

Ahead of assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, a cut in fuel prices may create a positive impact in the favour of governing dispensation and is likely to blunt some of the opposition criticism over the higher cost of living, TOI said in a report on Wednesday.

Fuel prices were last reduced in May 2022 after an excise duty cut of Rs 8 on petrol and Rs 6 on diesel.
