Why Vande Bharat Express train is being modified for Delhi-Jaipur route

Vande Bharat Express from Delhi to Jaipur is expected to be launched in the coming weeks. The new semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express train has been modified for the Delhi-Jaipur route of Indian Railways. According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Vande Bharat Express for the Delhi-Jaipur route had to be modified since double-decker trains run this route. This means that the height of the electricity wires on the Delhi-Jaipur route is higher.

A railway official told TOI that for Vande Bharat Express to run properly on the Delhi-Jaipur route a different type of pantograph had to be used. “Vande Bharat Express has a pantograph on the roof of every alternate coach.
