Western Railway, BMC spar over Gokhale bridge

MUMBAI: A war of words has broken out between Western Railway (WR) and BMC after civic officials expressed displeasure with the pace of demolition of Gokhale bridge. In response to BMC, WR wrote to the civic agency, “The morale of WR officials engaged in the work day and night has been dampened and their enthusiasm has been badly affected.”

Stating that the demolition will be completed before March 30, 2023 , WR urged BMC to observe restrain from issuing such letters or releasing them to the media

WR said work was progressing well and will be completed before the target of March 30, 2023, and efforts were being made to finish the work earlier.
