Vedanta’s ESL Steel launches EVs for employees to bring down CO2 emissions
Vedanta Group Company, ESL Steel Ltd on Friday said that the company has introduced electric vehicles for employees commuting in Bokaro under its ESL Ride Green initiative with the purpose of reducing carbon footprint, fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas (GHS) emissions.
“ESL is the first business in the Vedanta Group to launch electric vehicles in the plant premises for its employees…By converting our cars into EVs, we are now closer to our goal of becoming India’s leading sustainable steel player,” the company’s chief executive officer, N.L.Vhatte told in a press statement.
