Vande rider finds human nail in food; IRCTC fines caterer Rs 25,000
MUMBAI: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the catering contractor of the CSMT-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express after a passenger recently posted on social media a video of a human nail found inside a food packet served on the train.
Several passengers have also tweeted about the poor services and quality of food on the Mumbai-Goa train.
Besides the fine on the catering contractor, said IRCTC sources, a few protocols have been put in place to prevent such incidents. Sources said an executive-level official will now travel in the Vande Bharat Express for on-board monitoring of services.
