US’ Coherent to establish global Center of Excellence in Chennai

Coherent Corp. on Tuesday entered into a tripartite agreement with Guidance Tamil Nadu and the prestigious IIT-Madras Research Park to establish its first-of-its-kind global Center of Excellence (CoE) here which will focus on R&D of EV batteries and compound semiconductor devices among others.

A global leader in materials, networking, and lasers for the industrial, communications, electronics, and instrumentation markets, Coherent Corp. will set up the CoE at the IIT-M Research Park campus in Taramani here.
