UPPCL launches easy instalment scheme
Cash strapped UP Power Corporation Limited, which is in a financial quandary, on Wednesday launched a new Easy Instalment Scheme for domestic consumers under which they can pay their dues in 24 easy instalments in rural areas and in 12 instalments in urban areas.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma said that the scheme would be launched on November 11 and continue till December 31.
The scheme will be only for LMV-1 or domestic consumer of urban areas (up to 4 kilowatt load) and all consumers of rural areas.
Sharma said that under the scheme, consumers would have to pay five per cent of the dues or a minimum Rs 1,500 as first instalment with their regular October bill.
