Upgraded Korean machine installed at BHEL’
C Ananda, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal inaugurated the Upgraded PUMA Lathe Machine at Switchgear Manufacturing Division of BHEL, Bhopal the on Friday in a ceremonial function.
This machine, manufactured by Daewoo, Korea, was installed at BHEL, Bhopal way back in 1986. The spares of CNC Controller, Servo Drives, and Servo Motors & accessories are not available since mid-1990s. In addition to wear and tear, owing to continuous use over so many years, performance of this machine sharply deteriorated since the last couple of years. Added to this, there was a growing requirement for machining of profiles for newer jobs.
