Taking suo motu cognisance of the tripping of smart meters and citing gross violation of UPERC electricity code 2005, the power regulator has issued show-cause notice to the UP Power Corporation Limited and its five subsidiaries.
The UP Electricity Regulatory Commission has sought detailed report of the incident, including root cause analysis of this lapse along with the number of consumers whose power supply was interrupted..
The power regulator has also sought information about the time taken to restore supply to all the affected consumers.
