UPCL proposes hike in electricity rates in 2021-22
The Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has passed a proposal to the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) for raising the electricity rates by a total of 4.56 per cent in 2021-22 due to the less than required aggregate revenue requirement (ARR) received by the corporation in recent years. The proposal passed by the UPCL board will be presented to the UERC which will take the final decision on it. According to an official release, the proposed hike in electricity rates includes 1.99 per cent in the domestic category, 4.05 per cent in commercial category, 2.5 per cent in LT industry category and 5.13 per cent in HT industry category.
