Union civil aviation minister Scindia flags off 6 aerial routes connecting NE

GUWAHATI: A link aircraft is set to connect three cities in the northeast region giving passengers options for onward connectivity with the rest of the country.
Union minister for civil aviation, Jyotiraditya M Scindia; MoS, civil aviation, General VK Singh (Retd), along with Rajeev Bansal, secretary, ministry of civil aviation, virtually flagged off six routes on Monday, expanding aerial connectivity between Kolkata – Guwahati, Guwahati – Aizawl, Aizawl – Shillong, Shillong – Aizawl, Aizawl – Guwahati and Guwahati – Kolkata routes. The service will be available on every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The frontier state of Mizoram bordering Myanmar, a gateway to the northeast, has been the focus. Scindia said the city has an immense importance in the tourism and economic sector. “I am delighted to mention that Alliance Air’s most ATR aircraft are deployed on the northeastern routes. Today, we are further establishing seamless connectivity across the northeast by connecting four cities with one flight,” Scindia said.
