Uber reportedly begins electric car service in India
Uber has reportedly started its Uber Electric pilot program in India. According to an online report, the cab aggregator has started offering EV service in select places of Delhi-NCR. The report further adds that the company will be expanding the service to more areas in the coming months.
As reported by TechCrunch, Uber is offering electric cabs to users in the Delhi-NCR region. The electric cabs are presently available for pre-scheduled trips only.
Uber’s spokesperson told Techcrunch, “As the leading mobility app in India, we are committed to supporting the Indian government’s emission goals. Expect to see more electric vehicles — be they two, three or four-wheeled — across Indian cities in the coming months.”
