Two women labourers working on the Chillakallu flyover that is part of the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway in Jaggaiapet mandal were run over by a speeding car and killed on the spot on Thursday. Another woman sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment. According to the Jaggaiapet police, the deceased have been identified as Mangatayaru, 60 and Usharani, 35, of Gandrai village in Jaggaiapet.
The driver of the cab with a Telangana registration number has been taken into custody.
