Two-fold increase in target for highways augurs well for construction sector
The two-fold increase in the target for highways in FY23 compared with FY22 augurs well for the construction sector. Under the Prime Minister’s Gati Shakti Plan, the Finance Minister announced the government’s plan to expand the network of National Highways by 25000 kms in FY23. For this, the government will earmark Rs 20,000 crore.
Gati Shakti Plan is a digital platform which brings sixteen ministries including Railways and Roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure-related projects.
