Tribunal grants relief to two Adani Group companies in DRI case
In a relief for the Adani Group, a Customs, Excise & Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) has upheld the adjudicating authority’s order quashing over-invoicing allegations against two firms belonging to the conglomerate.
In July last year – after minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary said the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) is investigating certain entities belonging to the Adani Group – the conglomerate approached the CESTAT seeking early hearing on the matter, saying it had been getting enquiries from independent directors, auditors, financial institutions and lenders about the status of the case.
