To regulate airfare and capacity or not? Question awaits Jyotiraditya Scindia

To continue with regulation of airfares and number of flights, or to do away with it? That is probably one of the first major decisions that new aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will have to make after taking office likely on Friday.

Views on the issue seem divided with some people in favour of doing away with any control on fares or capacity while others feel such controls are needed to protect financially weak airlines as the industry is still reeling under the impact of Covid-19.
