TNPDCL narrows losses due to state funding, restructuring

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (TNPDCL) managed to narrow down its losses to 437 crore for 2024-25, significantly due to the heavy loss funding from the state govt, trifurcation of the erstwhile Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco), as well as the revenue from periodical hikes in tariffs.

For 2023-24, TNPDCL registered a loss of 4,436 crore; however, it came down 10 times to 437 crore in the last financial year, according to the annual report of TNPDCL for 2024-25.
