TN petroleum dealers seek CBI probe into illegal sale of spurious fuel as bio-diesel

CUDDALORE/SALEM: The Tamil Nadu Petroleum Dealers’ Association has urged the government to prevent the illegal sale of spurious fuel in the name of bio-diesel through tankers at various parts of the state thereby affecting the legal trade of petroleum dealers.

The association appealed to the government to order an investigation by the CBI into the illegal activity of an organized network of suppliers and distributors, who have been generating unaccounted money in the process.

The representatives of the association, who met chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami during his visit to Cuddalore on Thursday, submitted a memorandum in this regard.
