Tiger safari will not affect Kandi Road, says Min

After an MLA of the BJP raised doubts about the possibility of the tiger safari in Pakhron affecting construction of the Kandi road, the State’s Forest and Wildlife minister Harak Singh Rawat clarified that the tiger safari will not have any effect on the Kandi road. Addressing the media here on Monday, he said that the tiger safari project being developed in Kalagarh tiger reserve in Pauri district at a cost of Rs 150 crore will be the first tiger safari of its kind in the nation. Rawat recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had himself announced this project in 2018.

Stating that work has been started on the first stage of the tiger safari, the minister said that creating a controversy over it now is not appreciable. The tiger safari project will prove beneficial to the State, he added.
