Telangana discom rolls out safer pole-mounted transformers in city

Hyderabad: To prevent electrocution at power transformers, especially during rainy days, and to prevent short circuits and fire accidents from transformer blasts, Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has introduced pole-mounted distribution transformer system in the city.

Until now, most distribution transformers were installed close to ground level along the roadsides. This not only causes inconvenience to pedestrians, but garbage and plastic waste get accumulate around the transformers, often creating hazardous conditions.
