‘Tata Power tariff now cheaper than BEST and Adani’
MUMBAI: After the interim order of the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) of staying MERC tariff schedule of Tata Power for 2023-24 comes into effect from Saturday, Tata Power’s residential tariff in the city will be cheaper than its competitors – BEST in the island city and Adani Electricity in the suburbs – in most categories. Tata Power’s residential tariff for direct consumers will be 7-70% lower than Adani’s and 10-25% lower than BEST’s, it said on Friday.
However, the tariff for Tata Power’s changeover consumers, comprising less than 80,000 residents, will be higher than that of Adani’s, said sources. These users are those who have switched to Tata Power, but continue to receive electricity on Adani (wires) network.
