Tata Passenger Electric Mobility plans to launch 5 EVs in next 18 months

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) is set to introduce more than five new products within the next 18 months using its advanced electric vehicle architecture called ‘acti.ev’. The company announced on Friday that the first product to be launched on this platform will be the electric version of its compact SUV, Punch, known as ‘Punch.ev’. TPEM stated that the acti.ev platform will serve as the foundation for future offerings in their portfolio, with a range of different body styles and sizes.

In a promotional video showcasing the acti.ev platform, TPEM revealed its plans to introduce “five-plus products in the next 18 months”. Anand Kulkarni, TPEM’s Chief Products Officer, Head of HV Programs, and Customer Service, emphasized that the architecture of acti.ev has been meticulously designed to prioritize efficiency, space utilization, battery capacity, and overall driving experience. He described acti.ev as a globally-compatible and forward-looking electric architecture that enables the integration of software-oriented features, ensuring that the vehicles are not only technologically advanced but also future-proof.
