Tap regulator over project row, HC tells TN wind energy co

Bengaluru: The Madras High Court has asked a wind energy company in Tamil Nadu to approach the state’s electricity regulator to raise its dispute with the government-run power distributor over the delay in the completion of its project.

Tangedco (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation) conducted a wind auction in August 2017 for 500MW of capacity where local players Regen Powertech and Leapgreen Energy emerged as the winners for 200MW and 250MW, respectively. While the deadline for the completion of the projects was mid-June, Regen has built only 50MW so far while Leapgreen has yet to commission a single megawatt.
