Tamil Nadu to resume flights as the state crosses 16,000 Covid-19 cases
Chennai: The Ministry of Civil Aviation had announced the operation of domestic flights throughout the country from 25th May 2020. Despite the Tamil Nadu CM, Edappadi K Palanswami urging the Centre not to resume flights till the end of the month, the State government on Sunday issued an advisory for incoming flights that includes a 14-day quarantine and requires all domestic air travellers coming into Tamil Nadu to register themselves in TNePass portal.
The government specified that the 14-day home quarantine was for asymptomatic fliers, and that there would be institutional isolation for those without facilities for home quarantine. This comes after the state reported 765 cases of Covid-19 on Sunday. Tamil Nadu has been seeing over 700 cases almost every day this week.
