‘Stop felling trees for road widening in Brahmpur’
The Sabuja Bahini has requested the authorities at the PWD (R and B) Division 1, Brahmapur to stop unnecessary cutting of trees for widening of roads and relocate trees, which are cut in extreme need in the city.
In a letter to the Executive Engineer, Bahini president Sibaram Panigrahi and secretary M Dilip Kumar appraised that, on their earlier request, the Superintending Engineer (Southern Circle) had directed all Executive Engineers to avoid cutting of trees as well as concretization of road berms around trees. But in reality, trees are being cut and not being relocated.
They mentioned about cutting of old trees along the road from the Mango Market to Brahmapur main road for widening work.
