Special drive to promote solar power launched in Ambala

The district administration has launched a special campaign to promote the solar power by popularising the applications of various non-conventional and renewable sources of energy in Ambala.

To begin with, it has implemented solar home system “Manohar Jyoti” scheme to cover 505 households living in the un-electrified dhanis in the district.
“Our target is to achieve 100 per cent coverage of the identified households, but if still target is not achieved due to non-availing of the system by the un-electrified households, the leftover systems willll be distributed to other eligible applicants,” said Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sharandeep Kaur Brar here today.
