Speak up against projects which damage environment: Goa Archbishop

In an overt appeal, Goa Archbishop Father Filipe Neri Ferrao on Thursday urged people to raise their voice against anti-environment projects.

The comments by the religious figure come at a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition government is facing flak from the Opposition, as well as civil society groups over three projects being pushed by the Central government related to the rail, road and power sectors.

“There are so many ways in which we can spread the light of our faith in our community and society. For example, the environment is our common home. It is our responsibility to defend it.
