SP demands probe into Outer Ring Road construction

Demanding a CBI probe into irregularities in the construction of Outer Ring Road in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party MLA Ujjwal Raman Singh said that the government should investigate why a portion of the road caved in after just 2-3 days of rains.

Raising the issue through an adjournment notice under Rule 56 in the Assembly on Friday, the SP member said that the government had spent Rs 5,000 crore on the construction of the road but the way a portion of it caved in exposed the quality of construction.

The opposition member said that when the Bharatiya Janata Party claimed to be running a transparent government, why was it delaying in ordering a probe.
