Southern states account for most payment dues for renewable energy: Report

NEW DELHI: Despite government bailout packages, three south Indian states Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana together account for nearly two-thirds of the total Rs 10,300 crore worth of dues to renewable energy generators, research firm JMK Research said.

Quoting figures from the ministry of power’s PRAAPTI portal, JMK’s report said that these three states attributed for 71% of the total debt till July 2020 for non-conventional projects.
