New Delhi: The government is in the process of appointing a service provider who will sell National Highways Authority of India’s FASTags on the platforms of Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.
The electronic tag that allows automatic deduction of toll charges is already available on Amazon. It will soon be available on the other two ecommerce platforms as well, as FASTags become compulsory for toll payments on national highways from December 1. Paytm and bank websites also sell FASTags.
Bids will be opened on Friday to select the service provider, who will procure bank-neutral FASTags from authorised manufacturers and make those available for sale from January on the three online platforms.
